Catering & Bar Services
Can we self-cater or choose our own caterers? The Château features an exclusive catering team to cater for the duration of your stay. External caterers are not permitted. Confirmed bookings receive a complimentary wedding menu tasting.
Can we bring our own alcohol and is there a corkage fee? You can bring your own alcohol for the cocktail reception or wedding meal with a reduction to the essential catering package. Drinks for the rest of your stay must be purchased from the Château.
Do you offer food and drinks packages? Yes, our Essential Catering Package is a requirement for all bookings. This ensures that every guest is provided with quality, well-balanced meals throughout their stay. You’re also welcome to choose from a range of optional upgrades to tailor the food and drink experience to your event.
Is there a bar on-site with the option of having a bar tab? The chateau features The Chandelier Bar which is fully stocked with regional wines and Champagnes, spritz cocktails, branded spirits, mixers and beers. Pre-paid bar tabs and drinks packages are available. (No cash bar available). Bar Opening Hours: Fri 18:00-22:00 Sat from when the wedding meal finishes until 00:00 (optional to extend) Sun 13:00-20:00
Do you cater for allergies and children? We accommodate most allergies and intolerances with advance notice. Children's menu is available for under 10 years old, priced at half the adult rate.
Pricing, Booking & Services
Is there a minimum spend or guest requirement? A minimum charge of 70 adults for all catering, bar tabs and drinks packages across the weekend applies.
Do I need to hire a wedding planner or can I just hire a day coordinator? Due to the level of planning involved, all weddings at Château de la Couronne must be managed by a professional wedding planner. A day-of coordinator alone is not sufficient. Your planner is appointed through Château de la Couronne but works independently from the Château. Their services are not included within the Château’s pricing and are booked and paid for separately by the couple.
What is the deposit and is this refundable? To secure your booking, an affordable flat fee deposit is required, and this is non-returnable.
Do you offer midweek weddings? We offer a limited number of midweek 2-day celebrations (subject to availability). To find out more, please feel free to get in touch.
Do you have a list of recommended suppliers? Our planner has established connections with suppliers across various styles and price ranges, they will curate a tailored list to suit your preferences
Are staff included? Yes, staffing is included for the duration of your stay with the exception of the setup and de-rig on the wedding day, which your planner will arrange. Additional staffing will be required for weddings larger than 100 guests.
What’s the booking process? If you would like to secure Château de la Couronne as your chosen wedding venue, the booking process is as follows: STEP 1. Contracts created To prepare your contracts, we will need your full names, preferred wedding date, guest count including adults and children under 10, home address, email address and contact number. STEP 2. Terms & Conditions call We will schedule a call with you to review the contract and Terms & Conditions together before signing. STEP 3. Contracts signed Signed contracts must be returned acknowledging the Terms & Conditions, along with copies of both passports. STEP 4. €5,000 booking deposit A €5,000 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your wedding date. STEP 5. Payment plan created Your payment plan will be based on your contracted guest count and will cover the Venue Package and Essential Catering Package. The remaining balance is split into four payments, spread evenly between your booking deposit and wedding date. STEP 6. Wedding planner introduction Your professional wedding planner will be introduced and confirmed. The planner is independent from Château de la Couronne and is booked and paid for separately. STEP 7. Food & drink planning Your food and drink menus will be created and finalised as your wedding plans progress. STEP 8. Six-week deadline Six weeks before arrival, all final wedding details must be submitted and no further changes can be made. This includes your: • Sleeping plan • Final guest list • Food and drink selections • Seating plan • Dietary requirements and allergies • Final payments • €5,000 security deposit STEP 9. Post-wedding report Following your wedding, our housekeeping team will complete a final inspection. Within 14 days, we will provide a report detailing any damages, missing items or minibar charges where applicable. STEP 10. Security deposit returned Once the post-wedding report has been completed and any applicable charges deducted, the remaining security deposit will be returned.
Venue Features & Policies
Are fireworks allowed? Fireworks are not permitted.
Are dogs allowed? Yes, with prior notice, we’re delighted to welcome well behaved dogs to the Château. Maisie, our resident château dog, especially loves making new friends!
Are tables and chairs included? Yes, tables and chairs are included in the Venue Package for up to 100 guests, however, you're welcome to explore other suppliers to find the style that best suits your vision.
Is there a PA system? The château provides background music for pre- and post-events. It does not include a PA system for the wedding day, however, this is something almost all DJs provide as part of their services.
Is there a curfew? Music is permitted to be played indoors until 2 am (if pre-arranged) and ambient music outdoors until 10 pm.
Is there disabled access? Yes, ground floor accommodation and accessible bathroom facilities are available.
Is there a backup in case of bad weather? Yes, the piano room seats up to 80 people for the ceremony and the banquet hall seats up to 120 people. For dining, the banquet can seat up to 100 people. For weddings larger than 100, we recommend hiring a marquee.
Is there a heated swimming pool? Yes, there is a large, modern heated swimming pool to enjoy with sun loungers and parasols.
Is there air-conditioning? Yes! This is a real luxury to have in a château, and all bedrooms feature recently installed air-conditioning to keep you cool, including the banquet where the After Party takes place.
Venue Logistics & Amenities
Is the venue exclusive to our party and not open to the public? Yes, the Château is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay.
What is the venue capacity? The estate can sleep up to 56 people, and we are able to seat up to 120 indoors (maximum 100 people for dining inside) and 500 for outdoor events.
Do you have local accommodation recommendations and travel advice? Yes, there are plenty of accommodation options nearby to suit all budgets. Travel advice is also available in the Welcome Pack (link in the footer).
What are the check-in and check-out times? Check-in: Friday at 4 pm Check-out: Monday at 11 am
Is there a church nearby or a celebrant available? Your wedding planner is able to arrange a celebrant, or a member of your wedding party may officiate. The village has a Catholic church and a Christian church nearby in Montbron (residency requirements apply for legal marriage in France).
